Inter finally got a well-deserved
point on the board in a six goal thriller at Signol.
It was an enthralling and entertaining
game of football played in great spirit and a real credit
to both sides. After some end to end stuff in the opening
ten minutes Cheadle grabbed the lead following a great run
and cross from Liam on the left, Josh was on hand to fire
Inter one nil ahead.
The lead was short lived however
and Signol's lively attack always posed the Inter defence
problems, the home side equalised with a great strike from
the left hand edge of the box giving Flynn no chance.
Then ten minutes before the
break Josh was on hand again at the far post to scoop home
from a tight angle and make it 2-1, only for Signol to immediately
go up the other end and tie the scores at 2-2 going into half
time.
The second half was a tale
of chances missed and great goalkeeping. Cheadle were given
an almighty let off when Signol sprang the offside trap from
a free kick but the home forward shot wide with the goal at
his mercy.
Flynn peformed heriocs again
in the Cheadle goal as Signol sensed a breakthrough and there
was nothing he could do about their third - a fine shot from
the edge of the area.
At the other end, the home
'keeper pulled off a breathtaking save after a Danny shot
pinged off the bar and Feme looked certain to score, only
for the ball to be plucked out of the air by the goalie.
It seemed as if it was going
to be one of those days as the minutes ticked down and Inter's
attacks came to nothing, until a free kick was awarded on
the edge of the area. A well rehearsed routine finished with
Josh sealing his hat-trick with a spectacular shot to make
it 3-3.
There was still time for Cheadle
to almost nick it as another attack down the left and dangerous
cross saw Feme unlucky not to bag all of the points.
In the end a thoroughly deserved
point was the boys' reward for never giving up.
