Bollington Utd 5, Inter Cheadle 2
Inter got what they deserved from a lack lustre display at Bollington.
The now familiar slow start saw them 2-0 down in fifteen minutes. Both goals from the home side's first two attempts at goal.
They finally got back into the game when an excellent corner from Liam was powered home with a fine header from Tom P on 20 minutes and Cheadle finished the half much stronger.
More good play from Tom P and Liam right at the start of the second half set up Josh who equalised brilliantly with a deft header flicked over the home 'keeper to put Inter right back in it, and for the opening ten minutes of the second half there seemed to be only one winner.
Somehow though the energy fizzled out of Cheadle's play as quickly as it had returned and, looking nothing like the team that beat Vikings 3-1 just seven days before, they allowed Bollington to regain the lead after sloppily losing posession in the middle of the park.
They did try to get back in the game but left gaps at the back which the home side capitalised on well with some excellent breakaway play, good passing and movement - and finishing. A long range effort was enough to seal the game and even though there was ample time left to get back into it, we were never going to see a repeat of the comeback witnessed at New Mills.
Bollington even had time to grab a fifth and seal the most comprehensive and disappointing defeat for Cheadle so far this season.
They now have two home games in a row against Great Moor B to try and get back on track, but will need to be ready from the first whistle.
