Great Moor 'A' 5, Inter Cheadle 0
Stockport Metro League
Division One, Sunday, October 7th, 2007
Cheadle were taught a harsh lesson
by the title favourites as Great Moor dominated the game from
start to finish.
The home side dictated the play
with some simple slick passing, quick breaks and intelligent
movement off the ball.
On 12 minutes they found the breakthrough
when a long throw caused havoc in the Cheadle area and the
ball was turned in.
Two more well taken goals were
put away before the break as Inter considered damage limitation
and things looked like getting worse when the fourth was somehow
struck home from a tight angle right at the start of the second
half.
But Inter rallied and never let
their heads go down and for the last thirty minutes of the
game they restricted Great Moor to long range efforts - one
of which was finished superbly to make the final score 5-0.
But no disgrace for Cheadle facing
by far their toughest ever league opponents and they can only
learn. Many teams will find themselves on the receiving end
of much bigger scorelines, the challenge is there to improve
in the return!
