Inter Cheadle 2, Bollington
Utd 4
Sunday, April 6th 2008
Stockport Metro League Division One
Inter let the lead slip twice
and found themselves victims of a Bollington late show as
the visitors completed the double.
With just two minutes on the
clock Cheadle had the lead, some good work from John S and
Kay down the right wing saw Max smash home left footed from
just outside the six yard box.
The lead lasted just two minutes
though as the visitors hit straight back.
Both sides had chances to regain
the lead - and Inter must have thought they had when Liam's
effort looked goal-bound, but thudded against the bar.
The second half started the
same as the first with Inter attacking Bollington down the
right hand side and it was within two minutes of the restart
that Kay fired the home side back into the lead with a smart
shot from just outside the area.
But back cam Bollington again
and their pressure told on 50 minutes as they levelled for
the second time.
With the visitor's defence
looking solid they pushed for a winner as the game went into
the final stages and it was 3-2 on 63, the Bollington striker
shooting home amid a ruck of players.
The game was settled two minutes
from from the penalty spot and Inter were again left to rue
letting a lead slip as on so many occasions this season.
